Frightening Friday

Well a freak storm blew in on Cliff's crew in North Dakota and they are snowed in at the man camp with no power and no water. The whole town is closed down in an ice blizzard with 12 foot snow drifts. Thank heavens they are in the man camp and not on location. Cliff said it was so cold inside the rooms that you can see your breath. He is lamenting no showers or hot food. Hopefully the will get it fixed soon. Shouldn't be too bad it's suppose to be 50 degrees tomorrow. I don't know what will happen when all that snow melts that fast. I'm sure it will be a mess. Just praying they get some heat pretty quick. They said that the generators they ordered are on back order but Cliff thinks they just cheaped up and didn't get any which is crazy in that area with the freak weather and the severity of it when it hits. Corporate America sucks.

Here we go again

Well the dentist had to go back in and re-drill my tooth and basically redo my root canal. He put a lot of medication in it this time and more antibiotic to take orally. I hate this; I will have been on antibiotic since Feb 16, that cannot be good. Anyway, the dentist was amazed that I was having problems with it but when he was re drilling it out he just kept getting crap out of it that he said was infection. I wonder if it wasn't also more root but who knows anyway. I just want it better so I can get off the antibiotic and off the pain meds. Keeping my fingers crossed

Terrible Tuesday

Well Cliff is off and back to work. I hate the days he has to leave. We just do not get enough time on his off days. His schedule is changing and that is gonna suck and be better at the same time they are going to 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off starting June 1st. The off time will be nice but that three weeks will be a killer. Two weeks is hard enough. Oh well I guess it's cowboy up time.

My tooth is still screwed up so I am going to the doctor this afternoon. I hope it's not infected again . I was just sure when he did the root canal that would solve the issue guess not. Just not having a good day.

Viva Las Vegas

Well we went to the car show and it was so much fun. We just wandered around and saw all the cars and strange people. It is really an experience. So many really beautiful "calendar girls" some of the real famous ones like Elvira. Anyway, the place had really good energy and we enjoyed it all. Good music , good carne burritos, good company. It was a really nice day. We even saw the Jerry Lee Lewis concert and he was still rocking after all these years. Good Times

Tony "got lucky" with one of the "pin up girls" she was a cutie and he loved having his picture taken with her. He got a couple new shirts. He really seemed to enjoy himself. I know we all did. Cha had to buy some little slippers cause her feet were tired. Ted brought some flats so she was OK. I knew better and wore "comfortable shoes like Forrest Gump". Ha

My Tooth Still Hurts

OK, $300 later I expect my frigging tooth not to hurt. I started crying tonight cause I get so tired of being in pain. For once I'd like for EVERYTHING to feel OK all at once. I really wanted to feel good to go to the car show so I could have fun. Anyway, I have pain pills and I am going to take them. Cause Damn It I am Going and I am Going to have Fun. But I can tell you that dentist has some explaining to do come Monday.

Daddy's home

God it was so good to see him come thru that door. We just grabbed each other and started saying how much we had missed each other. Then he came in to the computer and pulled up Zack Brown's "Colder Weather" and played it. I just started crying. It was so how we both felt. Heart breaker. He just kept saying, "It shouldn't have to be like this, it's not right us having to be so far apart." It broke my heart. But we both understand it is what it is and we are lucky we have a good job. So we count our blessings and hand on to each other while we can

We went over to the VR to play some penny slots and ran into Candy and Darren. That's Cliff's ex-wife's sister and brother in law. They are really nice people. They were out for a baseball tournament for a few days. We visited for a little bit and had a beer, It was nice to see them.

Then we saw the Mexican tending bar and talked to him a minute. Cliff and him miss each other I could tell. I think Cliff would like it if the Mexican would come to work with him but Leo doesn't want to be away for Gabby so we don't blame him, Nice to see him doing so well.

Toothache

I have had a tooth ache for a couple days. So I went to the dentist today. I couldn't afford a root canal and cap $2000 so I was just going to have him pull it. He talked me out of it saying I really needed that tooth as it was at the very back of my bottom right side and the tooth in front of it had already been pulled. He said if I wanted to get a bridge for that missing tooth I'd need this one to anchor it. He said he could do a procedure that would just take the root out and then he'd put some antibiotic down in the tooth and fill it. He said that would essentially kill the tooth and I'd have no more pain in it. Then he said I could make payments on it and once I had it paid for he would finish the root canal and we'd go on to the cap. He said the procedure he was going to do today would cost me less than pulling it so I agreed. I guess I can pay him $100 a month until it's paid off and I do want to keep the tooth if possible. Really I just want it to stop hurting.

So that's that. I just want it to stop hurting. Cliff is coming home in the morning and I want o t feel good while He's here. We are all going to Viva Las Vegas , a big Rockabilly car show, in Vegas this weekend and I want to be able to party like it's 1955

Happy Birthday Teddi My baby is 26

Well we had a wonderful camp out and cooked dutch oven chicken for Teddi's birthday. It was really a lot of fun. Charlee, Tony, and I dug a fire pit out back and started the charcoal and had the chicken and potatoes almost done by the time Teddi, Donnie and kids got here from Vegas. We had a wonderful dinner that included Olatha sweet corn, salad, and German choc cake. It was funny after we sang happy birthday and blew out the candles, I turned around to go get some dessert plates and Gordy took the knife and just hacked the cake to pieces. It was so darn funny. I said well that will make it easier for Teddi to "bite it" The only thing that could have made it better was if Cliff and Toby were here but I guess ya can't have everything!

We played outside with the kids and then set up the tents. We set up two cause we thought we'd need them, but Gordy wasn't having any of the camping in a tent thing. She wanted to go home to "Mama's house" She must have some of her Grandma in her. I had the best of it all, I got to sleep in the house with Harlee. We put her in the spare bedroom and she didn't make a peep all night. I finally got up about five and went to the bathroom and she stirred a little when I flushed the toilet. The minute I heard her peep I was on her in a minute. I made her a bottle and got her in bed with me and just played with her and loved her and stole at least a hundred kisses. Teddi came in the house about 7 clock and reclaimed her but it was heaven while it lasted.

Our delicious dutch oven meal. So glad Mom and Dad taught me how to make "real" dutch oven food. Some I see is really just steamed but ours is done right and is so crisp and good.

Olivia was so excited about camping out and telling scary stories. I am so happy we have this place with the big yard. It's so nice with the grand kids , it's all fenced so we can turn them loose and they have so much fun at Big Daddy's and Big Mama's. Hopefully they will remember the wonderful times we've had as a family.

Olivia's Soccer Practice

Today was Olivia's second soccer practice so I went to Vegas to watch her and see Teddi's family. Oli was so cute and really did well. She really listened to her coach and did all the drills really well. After practice the coach said she " needs to not talk quite so much" HA good luck with that! Olivia is so spontaneous and excited about life that she just gushes over about everything and guess what coach, we love her that way. I do understand that she cannot disrupt the class but her exuberance cannot be contained HA

After Oli's practice we went to the mall and picked up the family pictures they had taken. They were so good. Then we went and got Mexican food and took it home for dinner. I played with the baby a bit and then came home it was a really fun night. I am so thankful I am feeling so much better and feel like doing things again!! Hallelujah

Sunday Morning

Got back late last night from our trip to California. We drove to Vegas and had lunch at Marie Calendars then did a little shopping. We hit the road and drove through Needles and Blythe to Brawley and got a room at the Calipatria Inn. It was a nice motel and we had dinner at their little steak house which was really nice. The food was great and then we went to the little store near the motel and I could not believe it, I found a LOOK candy bar. That is my favorite candy bar and I can never find them. I look in every store I ever go in and BAMB there they were so I bought two!HA We went back to the room and I ate a candy bar and we turned on the TV but I was out like a lite. I swear the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I wanted one for the house so I tore the tag off so I could try to get one. It was a Simmons Beauty Rest Signature 111 Super Pillow Top Plush. (of course after we get home I research and find out it's their hospitality series and can only be purchased by hotels) Anyway got up Saturday morning and Cha went to visit her friend and I just lounged around in that wonderful bed and watched TV, then took a long hot bath. I finally got my butt out of bed and went across the street and had some tacos for lunch. Then I was gonna eat my other candy bar but low and behold it was gone (Cha had it as a snack during the night ha) At least she saved me the calories. When she got back we drove up by the Salton Sea and looked for Salvation Mountain but couldn't find it, stopped in Indio and got some Starbucks, and then on to Victorville where we had dinner at Olive Garden and looked for Tony a new game, which we didn't find, then on home. We got here about 10. All in all a real good trip.

Freaky Friday

Decided to ride to California with Charlee today. She is going to visit a friend and I thought going along is lots better than sitting in the house by myself. I have been trying to keep busy since Cliff left. Got lots of cleaning done, mopped all the floors and got the house ship shape. I want to buy some new sheets for our bed but can't seem to find what I want. All the reds are too dark or too orange. Guess I will just have to keep looking.

Learning to Hate Tuesday

Well my baby is gone again. Left at 6:30 this morning to go back to work. He hasn't been gone 20 minutes and I miss him and the house feels empty. I was up a good part of the night with my knees hurting, guess I did more than I thought yesterday. Oh well this too shall pass.

I have to go over this morning and help Kay Goessman try to figure out what Charles did the last couple months at Tri-Force. Shouldn't be too bad she says she has bank statements. Just have to make up the difference. He may be surprised with how much he owes in taxes . I know him and he "forgets" about things like that.

Cha came over with the kids last night and we barbecued steaks for dinner. I got them at La Mexicana and they were sirloins and just OK. We are use to rib eyes but they didn't have any and I was too lazy to go to Smiths. Reminds me how spoilt we are. The Day Before He's Gone Again

Had to post this picture of our baby. She is so cute. Can't believe she is 3 months old already! We spent the day today doing yard work. Who's idea was it to buy a house with a big lot. Cliff mowed and I trimmed the front yard with scissors cause our trimmer is broke. We barely got the lawn mower started and our leaf blower won't work. I told Cliff we don't have a piece of yard equipment that works except us HA. Cliff even mowed our back part of the lot. The weeds were waist high and I know the City was gonna send us a letter before long. Luckily my sweet man took care of it. Anyway things look great for at least another week. Talked to Toby today. I guess he is sick of his job and gave notice. He is sure a brave one. I try not to worry about these kids cause they are all grown but I am still their MAMA. I just love them all so much.

Good Weekend

We had a really nice weekend. Cliff was home and we started with Tony's birthday on Friday, then Saturday we lazed around all day and then watched a couple movies. About 8:00 we got dressed and went out to dinner, yummy prime rib and then played the slots for awhile and watched the band American Made at the VR. They are a crappy band but live music is usually better than anything else. At least it's a diversion and Cliff can mimic them and make me laugh. Today we watched the race at Martinsville and napped most of the day. Cha and Dooda came over for a few minutes and then I fixed shrimp scampi with asparagus and pasta for dinner. It was really good. Then we watched the Country Music Awards. It was really good for a change even if Taylor Swift won entertainer of the year. Cliff was so disgusted

Tony Turns 14

Well we had Tony's birthday party tonight and it was really fun. He had all his "Hommies" over and we made chicken enchiladas and had rice and beans. We ordered the rice and beans from a local Mexican restaurant and had enough to feed an army. Something must have gotten lost in the translation cause we had enough to feed 200 people. I told Cha they will be eating bean burritos for awhile. Anyway along with all his friends, Chelsea and Nick came over with Daniel and Daniel and Gabbi went swimming for the first time this year, Nick found the pool out back and then he and Cliff cleaned it up and filled it with water. I think they about froze but you know kids they are up for anything. They were so cute. Monte and Kelly came over and it was fun to sit and talk to them. Or I should say Kelly, Monte is not much of a talker. All in all it was really fun. The boys played video games while the old folks sat outside and talked, then we ate and had cake and he opened his gifts. It was a Laker themed party and he got a basketball game, a Laker Jersey, a Laker hat, and $25.00. Big Daddy and I had already given him Monster Jam tickets so he was rolling. After the party Tony and his boys went to a movie and Charlee said there was a gang of girls there waiting for them. OH BROTHER!!!!
