We leave in the morning to go to Idaho to do APC. I was thinking last night that it seems like I have done this show 50 times, then I realized I have!!! You'd think after all that I would have it etched in my memory but I have to re-learn it every time. I must admit it does get easier every time. I think the hard part is I never get any rehearsal time with the band. It is not easy to do 27 songs with a new band, many of which are medleys, with usually 1 rehearsal. I always just pray they remember to give me some sort of pick up when we segue out of the vamping for lines and back into the song. If not, I just go and they just have to find a way to go with me.
It is nerve racking though. My dream would be to do the show and actually have a couple days to work with the musicians. But the good news is Miss Marnie and I always have each others backs and it works out. Sometimes for the better cause the train wreck is usually hysterical.
I have come up with a few new costumes that I like better for this show. I figured I'd go all out since this may be the last time I do it, Who knows!
As soon as we get back I have to do two songs in a 40's revue. "Diamonds are a girls best friend "and "White Christmas." I ordered a dress for Diamonds but it looked like crap, the fabric looked like a pepto-parachute. So now, I have no idea what to wear. Channel Marilyn Monroe I guess.
They have asked me to do a show called "Cowgirls". It's a hokey musical but looks fun. I told them last night I'd do it so now I guess I'm committed. The character Mickey is actually the only one I would be willing to play and she is the youngest, go figure HA! Hope it's not too bad. I have a hard time with theatre politics sometimes. We are also doing the cowboy poetry festival for two days in April. I am really looking forward to that. So with it all I hope we"break a leg". Tell ya all about it later.
